Anna’s favourite new spot: Built in 2024, Alpine hut at Erewhon is located in the Hakatere Conservation area near Lake Clearwater at the old Erewhon ski field. Spectacularly located at 1700m, an exciting range of touring choices abound. AKG can take up to 5 guests for 3 nights/4 days of touring or 4 nights/5 days.
Price depends on numbers as well as whether the trip is self-catered or catered by AKG guides.
We recommend helicopter access into the hut and walk out.
Helicopter transport into the hut cost $900-$1400 per group, depending on numbers. Ebiking or walking in is also an option.
